Last week I attended the Azerbaijan-US Green Energy Forum. It was a significant event organized by the Ministry of Energy and AZPROMO. The forum had Deputy Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Elnur Soltanov and Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets of the United States of America Arun Venkataraman as co-chairs, and various government agencies and business representatives attended it.
At the beginning of the forum, the co-chairs had a bilateral meeting. They discussed expanding relations between the two countries in the energy field, exploring the possibilities of cooperation on green energy and other mutual interests. The Deputy Minister provided information about the country's strategic goals, large-scale works in the renewable energy sector, and implemented projects. He also highlighted the country's potential for wind and solar energy, which could attract "green investment."
After the forum, I had an exciting conversation with Prof. Teymur Abasov on the current situation in producing electricity, and renewable energy potential.
Overall, the forum was an excellent opportunity for Azerbaijani and US companies to have business meetings and discuss potential collaborations in the green energy sector.
